THURSDAY THIRTEEN a bad luck day

This week we survived another Tuesday thirteen and although it is unclear why this day is unlucky, our superstition, causes us fear.
Not to be confused with the Friday 13 of Anglo-Saxon culture.

In Spain, Greece and Latin America, is considered the Tuesday thirteen as an unlucky day.
The truth is I have not found a specific precedent on this particular day, although separately both the Tuesday, as the number thirteen is associated by many different cultures as a bad omen.

Tuesday is considered a day with negative connotations for different reasons:
-Its Latin name comes from the planet Mars (god of war) in the Middle Ages, was also known as "the little evil".
-Also on a Tuesday Don Jaime de Aragon (Jaume first for the Valencians) lost most of his army in Luxen, which gave it a reputation as ominous day.
-Also the Tuesday May 29, 1453 the city was reconquered of Constantinople. Although the pope and the republics of Venice sent a small fleet to help the besieged city, when they arrived they found some ships with survivors fleeing from the occupied city, which was a severe trauma to the Christian nations, which was increased with the association of Tuesday to the pagan god of war.

On the other hand the number thirteen is a damn number to very different cultures:
In Christianity, is associated with the Last Supper where Jesus met and his 12 apostles (and the traitor Judas is given the number 13).
Also in Revelation, chapter number 13 corresponds to the Antichrist.
The Jews in the Cabala listed 13 evil spirits.
The Scandinavian legend account that at a dinner of 12 gods at Valhalla, Loki (fighting and evil spirit) sneaks (being then 13) and in the fight to expel him Balder (the favorite of the gods died).
In the tarot, the number 13 corresponds to the Charter of death.

A curious fact is that international airlines have no row 13 seats on its planes (for fear that passengers not occupy). In U.S. large buildings go from floor 12 to 14.

So by association of these negative concepts, this date is a horrible day for Spanish speakers and Greek superstitious people.
