FIRA DE JULIOL 2012 (ACTS 22 July)

18:30 pm Sample artisans and merchants LA FRAGUA DE VULCANO, open until 00 hours in the old riverbed of the Turia, near the bridge de la Exposicion (bridge of the Peineta).

18:30 pm Sample of artisans and merchants "Summer Fair" LA MAQUINA DE CRONOS, open until 00 hours in the old riverbed of the Turia in the Jardines del Palau.

20 hours BATTLE OF FLOWERS along the Paseo de la Alameda. The battle of flowers, it's a parade of carriages adorned with a floral form (23 in this time), where flower petals throw themselves between the public and the floats. Which leave the ground covered with a beautiful floral blanket. It's a nice and curious tradition to behold.

FIRA DE JULIOL 2012 (ACTOS 22 de Julio)

18:30 horas Muestra de artesanos y Mercaderes LA FRAGUA DE VULCANO, abierta hasta las 00 horas en el viejo cauce del Túria, junto al puente de la Exposición (puente de la Peineta).

18:30 horas Muestra de artesanos y Mercaderes “feria de Verano” LA MAQUINA DE CRONOS,  abierta hasta las 00 horas en el viejo cauce del Túria en los Jardines del Palau.

20 horas BATALLA DE LAS FLORES a lo largo del Paseo de la Alameda. La batalla de las flores, consiste en un desfile de carrozas adornadas de forma floral (23 en esta edición), desde donde se lanzan pétalos de flores entre el publico y las carrozas. Los cuales dejan el suelo cubierto de un precioso manto floral. Es una bonita y curiosa tradición digna de ver.

FIRA DE JULIOL (Fair of July)

The July Fair, born on 21 this same month in the year 1871, with a colorful parade, pavilions, exhibition and sale of plants and products in general. The motivation of this fair was to give a leisure offer alternative for residents, not to leave the city to go to cooler areas during this month because of the heat and lack of recreational offerings and to attract tourism. So the council decided to hold an annual fair and an exposition of all kinds of products.
Gradually increasing the festivities until become established in 1891 the battle of the flowers, where they engaged in a soft struggle between the majestic and floral carriages and the public. Where hundreds of thousands of carnation are thrown through the air for about an hour, creating a floral blanket on the floor (this battle is celebrated the last Sunday of the month).
During the first fifteen days, since 1886, celebrates the International Competition of Bands. Currently shared between the Palau de la Música and the bullring.
The counterpoint "cultural" in the second half of the month, are bullfights.
In the Jardines de Viveros, there is a festival, with a variety of artists including Jazz, Rock, Pop, Ballet, Theatre, Flamenco and more.
The July Fair, also accompanied by several fireworks.

FIRA DE JULIOL (feria de Julio)

La feria de julio, nace el 21 de este mes en el año 1871,con una vistosa cabalgata, pabellones, exposiciones de plantas y venta de productos en general. La motivación de esta feria era dar una oferta de ocio alternativa, para que los habitantes, no abandonaran la ciudad para ir a zonas mas frescas en este mes por el calor y la escasez de ofertas lúdicas, así como para atraer turismo. Así el ayuntamiento decidió celebrar una feria anual y una exposición de toda clase de productos.
Poco a poco los festejos se fueron incrementando, hasta quedar establecida en 1891 la batalla de las flores, donde se libra una suave lucha entre las majestuosas y florales carrozas y el publico. Donde centenares de miles de claveles son lanzados por el aire durante cerca de una hora, creando un manto floral en el suelo (esta batalla se celebra el ultimo domingo del mes).
Durante la primera quincena, desde el año 1886, se celebra el Certamen Internacional de Bandas de Música. Actualmente repartido entre el Palau de La Música y la plaza de toros.
El contrapunto “cultural” de la segunda quincena, son corridas de toros.
En los Jardines de viveros, se celebra un festival, que incluye artistas variados de Jazz, Rock, Pop, Ballet, Teatro, Flamenco entre otros.
La fiesta también va acompañada de varios castillos de fuegos artificiales.
