MOVIES FROM THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY IN THE FILM LIBRARY

The film library file has restored several silent films of the early 1900s that "premiering" on December 14.
The short films narrates the daily life of Valencia (religious processions, weddings, etc ...).
Each film is accompanied by live piano music.
The projection on the 14th is at 20 hours in the room Luis Garcia Berlanga. Located in the town hall square in Valencia number 17 (in the Rialto building).
With these projections wants to introduce the work of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage film by the film library. Besides being an interesting look at the life of early last century.

JAPAN WEEK 24-29 November 2012

From 24 to 29 November in Valencia is held the 37th edition of the Japan Week organized by the International Friendship Foundation (IFF), headquartered in Tokyo, which each year makes a cultural week in a different city of the world, to bring the Nippon culture  to the world.


There are a variety of acts:
Exhibitions of martial arts and swords (among them is the teacher who taught the actors in Kill Bill), ceremonies, parades, Japanese film cycle in the film library, workshops, gastronomic exchanges, among others.
There are free events and others in which you have to buy tickets.

CINESTUDIO D'OR cinema revival

The Cinestudio D'OR, is one of the oldest cinemas in Valencia (and one of the few still open which is not a modern multiplex).

at D'OR you can see two movies that were recently premieres for the price of one.

Prices are:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 3.5 Euros (Retired youth card or 3 Euros)

Tuesday is the day of the Spectator and costs 3 Euros.

Saturday and Sunday 4.5 Euros.

Occasionally there are also films in original version with subtitles in Spanish.

There are two double sessions (you can go see a movie alone, but costs the same). The movies and times appear weekly at its Web, along with movie trailers.

I believe do not sell popcorn etc ... But neither look if you bring food or drink.

V VALENCIA'S INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL MEDIUM LENGTH-FILMS "LA CABINA" 9 to 18 November 2012

The 5th edition of the festival medium length-films "La Cabina", opens its doors at the Museum of IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art) in Calle Guillem de Castro 118 (reaching the old Turia riverbed).

Each session includes two medium length films, and its price is 3 Euros per session, and you can buy tickets for three sessions for 7.5 Euros. Tickets purchased at the box office of the IVAM.
